
2nd IHB International Rheumatology Conference
Distinguished international and regional leaders in the field of rheumatology descend on Bahrain. Following the success of last year’s rheumatology conference, the International Hospital of Bahrain (IHB) hosts its Second International Rheumatology Conference. This scientific event is scheduled for Saturday 23rd February 2013. The event will be held at the Intercontinental Regency Hotel, Kingdom of Bahrain.
Renowned experts in the field of rheumatology from the USA, Europe and the Middle East will present during the conference. “The objective of this highly-esteemed scientific gathering is to discuss the recent advances in early diagnosis and management of various rheumatic diseases including: Rheumatoid Arthirtis; Osteoarthritis; Gout; Ankylosing Spondylitis and Osteoporosis,” said conference Chairman Professor Samir El Badawy. Professor Badawy holds the prestigious positions of Secretary of the International League for the Association of Rheumatology, and President of the Pan-Arab Association of Osteoporosis.
“Biologic agents in the diagnosis, treatment and assessment of rheumatic diseases will also be discussed with the objective of comprehensive management,” says Dr. EmilHanna, Conference Secretary General, and Head of the IHB Rheumatology & Rehabilitation Department.
Adds Dr. Emil, “the conference includes two scientific workshops: ‘Sarcopenia and the Role and Importance of Vitamin D’, and ‘The Role of Biologic Agents’.”
“As part of the IHB’s Community Service Programme the conference also includes ‘Friends & Family’ CPR training, by AHA (American Heart Association) certified instructors. This event is open to the public and free of charge,” says Mr. Chris Lewis, IHB Chief Operating Officer.
